Online meeting with Michael Beavan – Our Community Enterprise CIC Martin Large – Oakbrook Community Farm

Community businesses make places better. The profits they make deliver a positive local impact, and they are accountable to the community for their actions. Does Reading need more community businesses? And should RISC become one of them?

Join our online webinar to find out more about community businesses, how they work, and what are the benefits – and risks – of setting up a community business. Our guest speakers will be Michael Beavan, Director of Our Community Enterprise CIC, which provides business advice to local community organisations, and Martin Large, Chair of Oakbrook Community Farm, which recently raised over £100,000 to set up as a community business.

We will discuss how community businesses support and provide services to local people, and factors to consider before setting up a community business. Ideas from the webinar will help RISC decide whether to take the first steps towards setting up as a community business.

To take part in the meeting please register in advance through our Eventbrite page here , and we will send Zoom login details to you before the event.
