Thanks and credits

This teacher’s toolkit and its accompanying website were funded by the European Commission through a programme which aims to ensure that every person in the European Union can bring about change for a more just and sustainable world. As future world citizens children and young people hold the key.

Devised by a network of teachers in the UK, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ireland and Ethiopia, the toolkit supports teachers in finding out what pupils think about local and global issues. It contains 30 engaging, participant led activities for all age groups, designed to support teachers in measuring the impact their teaching has on pupils’ attitudes. Enhanced by teachers’ case studies, it shares examples of how each activity can be used to inform planning, teaching and evaluation.

The three project partners

RISC is a Development Education Centre in the heart of Reading, UK. We work with teachers in schools, trainee teachers in universities and with community groups to raise the profile of global issues and promote action for sustainable development, human rights and social justice. RISC belongs to a network of Development Education Centres who aim to create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.

The Varianty educational programme of People in Need aims to create an inclusive and open society and support education for global responsibility. We work with teachers and teaching assistants, developing partnerships with schools and universities, collaborating with NGOs, education counselling centres and education departments to promote educational policy changes.

Milan Simecka Foundation organises educational, information, research and rememberance activities within three programs – Diversity, Inclusion and Memory. Our activities are based on fundamental democratic values such as freedom and respect for human rights.
